PhotoWipe Editor's Review

According to the producer, 'PhotoWipe' is a revolutionary imaging tool that magically removes unwanted objects from your photos. As for how should this program be used, the producer says 'just paint them over in black, and click go! Uncovers hidden detail in your photos'. I was very intrigued when I read this description and I become very eager to test the program. I was curious to see how can a computer program know what was behind a certain object.

While testing the program I've learned that for very small objects it might work fine but if that object has a shadow on another object it's gonna be impossible to fool someone. Even so the object has to be very small. I can't really see the use for this program. You can't obtain impressive results, not even good enough results. The processing time takes like forever and the result is disappointing. If you want to get rid of an object placed on a white background you'll see some gray spots where that object was before the image was processed.

The user interface is somehow easy to understand but not at all intuitive.

Pluses: It's free.

Drawbacks / flaws: Disappointing results.

In conclusion: With all due respect, although it's a free program I think this is a useless program. I look forward for the next version hopping that it will be much better.
